WTF is the big deal about eternal life
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life
What is the Christian fascination/obsession with eternal life? What is the upside of living forever?
“You’ll be in heaven!”
“Doing what?”
“Worshipping God!”
That really doesn’t sound like heaven to me. Now, if you told me that heaven involved dogs and big breasted long legged red heads, I might give this a second thought. But the promise of an eternity in praise and worship is horribly unappealing.
The very first message of Christianity is that God sent his son to die for us so we could live eternally. Seriously. THAT’S the first best message of the religion? Oh yeah, and if we don’t want to be with God for eternity, the option is an eternity of damnation and torture. Again with the eternal life, just not with praise and worship.
Y’all are going to have to make heaven sound a lot more appealing. Well, you really need to prove it first.
